Top Ten Reasons to See Your Advisor

Your academic or faculty advisor is your personal advocate for success at Wake Tech, and beyond. Advisors are committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, professional, and supportive.

While students are encouraged to make decisions and a plan for their own educational goals, advisors can assist students in many different ways.

Here are at least ten reasons why you should meet with your advisor on a regular basis:

10. To learn about campus resources
9.   Discover visit dates of transfer colleges
8.   Acquire help reviewing test scores
7.   To better understand transfer credit
6.   To decipher registration error messages
5.   To find out about transfer options
4.   To ask questions about withdrawing from or adding a class
3.   Change or add a program
2.   To plan out next semester’s courses
1.   To better understand your Program Evaluation (degree requirements)
